The Most Asked-About Piece I Make: The Pet Memorial Keepsake Collage with Paw Print

by | Mar 17, 2026 | blog, Pet Loss, Uncategorized | 0 comments

Of everything I create, this is the one I get the most questions about. And I understand why because it’s not like anything else out there.

It’s not just a portrait. It’s not just a paw print. It’s the things you’ve been keeping in a drawer or set out on your mantle or dresser, not quite knowing what to do with the dog tag, the fur clipping, the paw print from  the day you brought your pet back home. These can all be woven together into something you’ll reach for when you need to feel close again.

What Is the Memorial Keepsake Collage?

It starts with a hand-etched portrait created from your favorite photo. Then I work in the mementos you send me like a paw print, a nose print, a lock of fur, a dog tag, and optionally, a tiny portion of your pet’s ashes mixed directly into the etching ink.

Every piece is archival-quality, beautifully matted, and thoughtfully composed. No two are alike, because no two pets were alike.

The finished piece arrives ready to place in your 11×14 frame and in the words of one customer, it somehow captures the soul of the animal in a way a photograph alone never could.

What to Send

  • A favorite photo (most photos work beautifully and in-focus smartphone shots are fine)
  • A paw print or nose print, if you have one
  • A lock of fur
  • A dog tag or small collar charm
  • Optional: a tiny portion of cremains (I’ll mail you a kit after purchase)

But I Already Have Those Things Scattered Around…

That’s exactly the point. So many of us have these precious mementos tucked away in a keepsake box, not knowing what to do with them. This is what to do with them. Let’s take the paw print sitting in your nightstand, the fur clipping in an envelope, the dog tag or kitty tag you just don’t know what to do with and turn them into something you’ll actually display. Something that honors who your pet was.

This Is Also a Gift

If you know someone who is grieving a pet right now, this is the most meaningful thing you could give them. Not flowers, not a card but something permanent, handcrafted, and deeply personal. Sometimes for gifting people just order a gift certificate or they order a different type of etching that does not include the paw print and other momentos. You can see all the options at the Greyboy Pet Prints shop.

For the Pet Memorial Keepsake Collage, prices start at $299. Ashes add-on is $30. A memorial candle add-on is also available.
